Transfer housing (USC)

Hi there,

I am wondering which apartment / residence hall is the best in USC for transfer students. here are my options:

Residence halls

 • Honors House
 • Parkside International Resident College

Apartments

 • Annenberg House
 • Cardinal Gardens
 • Cardinal 'n Gold
 • Founders
 • La Sorbonne
 • Manor
 • Max Kade House
 • Pacific
 • Parkside Apartments
 • Regal Trojan
 • Severance Street Apartments
 • Sierra
 • Stardust
 • Sunset
 • Troy Hall
 • Troy Hall East
 • Vista
 • Webb Tower
 • Windsor

I want to be as close to the campus (library, business school, computer lab) as possible, less people sharing a unit, and lower price.

Any ideas? Or any experience living in any of the above dorms?

Thanks

Have you already been accepted?

actually I am really shocked that I am accepted that early …

but I have to apply for housing right now asap …

any advice?!

wow, congrats.

yep, you should send housing asap.

Also, what were your transfer statistics?

thanks

was your envelope big or small?

She’s bogus!

They don’t segregate transfer students for housing. There’s no “transfer housing.”

i think you took it too literal

ok, my bad. Then I guess I just don’t get it. Sorry. Or maybe I’m just envious that she’s the only transfer on Earth that’s received word and she’s already looking into housing. ;)

I heard that housing is full too, so I will apply asap.

Does anyone go / know someone that goes to USC?! I want to know more about the school, social life, the people, and the Business School (Major: Business marketing)

I have to say I am totally shocked when I see the thick envelope~ I thought I would hear in May or most probably June but I found out early this week …

And yep, there isn’t any “transfer housing” specifically but a lot of the housing for continuing students are “open” (though they are full right now) for transfer students.

Oh, my stats:

international transfer student, studying in WA
GPA = 4.0
a bunch of activities (intl student org VP, student ambassador, senator, PTK member, intl student mentor)
I think my essay was ok, not excellent but not bad

major: business marketing.

Would anyone please tell me more about USC and the B School?

Thanks. Good luck to everyone.

jobu i dont think shes “bugus” because i got in too. recieved it in the mail today. came from a cc college. the acceptance came in a big envelope but i dont know about housing maggie. good luck finding some housing

Hi denverted,

Congrats to your admission too!

Are you from CA?!

Will you apply for housing too?

Do you guys know how big the USC campus is?

I dont want to live in an apartment which is like 30 min away from my classes.

so, wait, on-campus housing for transfers is full? does that mean that it’s completely full, or that they’ll open more spots eventually?

oxygenbarfight,

I don’t know, I just know that for continuing students it is full, so I am just crossing my fingers that I will have a place to live.

are you a transfer student accepted by USC too?

i’m a transfer student, but i haven’t been accepted yet. i applied for journalism at annenberg, whose admissions have told me they wouldn’t be sending out notifications till at least may 10.

STATS:
*3.67 at Biola University, double-major in Print Journalism and Philosophy, with a minor in Biblical Studies
*Founder and President of the Society of Political Agnostics
*Association of Student Philosophers member
*Overseas relief experience
*Recs from philosophy professor, current L.A. Times features writer, and former L.A. Times editor/Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist
*Good essay

oxygenbarfight,

I think you have better stats than mine, don’t worry.
Best of luck!

It kinda sucks when you have to wait until May 10~

maggie, it definitely does suck having to wait till may 10, primarily because i’ll still have to register for next semester at my current school.

thanks for the encouragement. your stats look great too, though you don’t need me to affirm that since it already has been by your admittance  congrats!

Yeah, congrats guys, sounds like us tranfers should be expecting confirmations (the good variety) sooner rather than later.
