Hey everyone! I am planning to transfer from Montgomery Community College to the University of Maryland in one year, my major is Public Health on a Pre-Med track. I have questions about which classes to take my first year at CC. Currently, I am registered to take Bio 150 (Principles of Bio I) and Chem 131 (Principles of Chem I) my first semester. Should I take both Bio and Chem at the same time in CC or should I only take one and do the other at UMD? Will it be easier to do both at CC? Thanks so much!
Go meet with the Transfer Advisor at your campus. Their whole job is to help you stay on top of these things.
Are you enrolled in MTAP? It is my understanding that that will facilitate the process https://admissions.umd.edu/apply/admission-requirements/transfer-applicant-requirements/maryland-transfer-advantage-program
In order to fit all of the pre-med coursework as well as the rest of the major requirements for graduation, it is likely that you will need to take two science classes most years. If you plan your study time carefully, you should be able to complete both of those classes during your first year.
