Transfer into UC Davis with 2.9 gpa?

I applied as an Econ major with a 2.9, I have the pre-reqs done and I did pretty well on all my Econ classes (at least a B). What are my chances as a California resident? Also, my secondary major choice was Science and Technology Studies which is not nearly as impacted, would I have a better chance for that major?

Hey sickgnarly,

UC has a website dedicated to statistics regarding admissions from every aspect. You can create a custom table that will display the GPA, # of applicants, and # of acceptances, and area of study. It’s at ([University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu))

Since I’m bored I looked at the most recent statistics for your major and alternate (Fall 2009 is the most recent I could find). While it doesn’t break it down by specific major, it does break it down by area of study, and economics would be under social sciences. There were 149 applicants with a GPA between 2.80-2.99, and a 86 got in, so about 57% (This is all CC transfers cause not sure on your residency). For your alternate it would be the same.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!
