I jut finished my freshmen year at Maryland. I got a 3.5 gpa for the year. I am interested in transferring to OSU and just missed the deadline. I have seen that if you have at least a 2.0 gpa you will definitely transfer in. I am unsure if that is true or not. I don’t have a problem of going to Columbus State for a quarter, but my parents are only cool with it if I can definitely get in osu for the winter. Any help would be great.

I wish that I could give you a definitive answer, but I can’t. However, my impression would be that with a 3.5 from your first year of college, acceptance should not be a problem. Sometimes the transferability of particular courses is unpredictable (sometimes you get course-to-course matches and specific course credit, sometimes you just get general credits in the discipline) but I don’t think you would have any problem being accepted by OSU as a transfer from Maryland.

Hopefully others will have helpful information for you.

Good luck!

It definitely sounds like transferring shouldn’t be a problem, acceptance-wise.

As for the timetable, that’s information I would fish around the website for. And you can (and should!) always e-mail someone over there, maybe admissions or transfer admissions (if they have a dedicated e-mail address) to ask for more specifics!

They will most likely not be able to comment on your likelihood of acceptance, but they can help you with figuring out deadlines and how to best transition.
