Transfer - Preengineering Advising?

Hey guys, a friend is trying to transfer and would love to talk to an advisor at UW.

He’s thinking about engineering, so I found this:
[UW Engineering - Academics & Advising | www.engr.washington.edu](Undergraduate advising | UW College of Engineering)

but they’re pretty specific to the different types of engineering departments.

Does anyone know if there are general ‘pre-engineering’ advisors available for him to contact?

I’ve also pointed him into the direction of the minority advisors and to chat with admissions officers.

Thanks!!

I think that his main problem is that he will have to start his major right when he enters unlike most engineering students which will most likely cause him to stay longer than just four years.

The pre-engineering advisor is Dan. I’ve only talked to him once or twice but he seems like n awesome guy. He’ll help you any way he can.
