Transfer Question

So in highschool, my first choice was AU but thanks to the health of my family at the time I chose to stay local. Im currently a Freshman at Clark Univ in MA. Now that everything is resolved I want to go to AU again. Im wondering where I stand as a transfer applicant.

Gpa throughout Highschool was about a 3.4/4
SAT 1900
SAT II - Lit: 650 - Math1: 610
White, 1st generation, Both parents Czech

EC in highschool
Fluent in Czech, 4 years of spanish, 8 years french, 3 years latin
Captain of soccer team
2 years doing Basketball
1 year doing Baseball
Active member/head of dorm board (judicial board)
Active boarding life member (boarding community betterment committee)
Founder of Model UN at my school
Ski/snowboard club

-Interned at Czech embassy in DC for 2 weeks
-Worked at a Bank for the summer
-Travelled to central america to save endangered sea turtles
-Travelled most of Europe and return yearly
-Worked as personal translator/Ski instructor for Czech embassadors kids/others

Now as of my first semester at Clark
Rowing team
Snowboarding club
1 semester of beginning Chinese

I’d also like to point out that due to excessive illness this semester I was forced to drop a class. Additionally, illlness led to absences which will probably result in less then stellar grades (low Cs to Bs most likely)

I’m wondering how all this will factor in IF next semester I get all A’s B’s

thank you ahead of time for any and all input

If you keep your GPA above 3.0, you will most likely be admitted to AU. AU transfer standard is pretty low. If money is not an issue, just shoot for 3.0. If you need any sort of financial help, you probably need to shoot for all A’s next semester.

yea well I need fin aid up the wazoo so I guess its all A’s then

thanks

i think the fact that you’re first generation and have european flair and experience will soften your marginal high school performance and current grades. good luck.

Merit aid for transfers a AU is slim. I was told for Fall’07 it was about 3.7. Grant aid for need based FA is still a possiblity. But prepare yourself for the probability of getting accepted with a minimal FA package.
