Transfer Questions

No, getting accepted doesn’t mean you have to transfer there. It’s the same situation as applying out of high school.
UC’s and CSU’s don’t take your SAT’s or high school grades into account at all if you are applying as a junior transfer, which is the best time to apply. It’s way more competitive and difficult to get into those schools as a sophomore transfer– most of them don’t even allow it.
You could transfer in to a UC for next fall if you have 60 transferrable credits by the end of spring, but you would have to apply by the 30th of this month. I believe the CSU application deadline has already passed.
The application process from a four year can be a bit more confusing than for those in community colleges. For CSU’s you are expected to have taken a course in english composition, one speech course, one course in critical thinking and one math course. Take a look around the UC website to see what you’ll need to do.
