i got rejected this year from seas. although i think i’ll be happy at Emory, i’m contemplating sending in a transfer application to columbia seas because, among other reasons, Columbia has better on campus job recruiting for finance.

I had one question about courseload rigor: I’m entering Emory with 32 hours of credit because of AP credit. As a result, I just need to take 3 classes a semester my freshman year.

Would it negatively affect my transfer chances to Columbia if I only take 3 classes a semester my freshman year? Should I take a more rigorous courseload?

if you transfer to columbia, they wont give you 32 credits of AP, so it would be a waste to take it easy, means you wouldn’t finish on time. plus if you dog it especially with engineering, it would not bode well.

transfer admissions is much more competitive than regular frosh admissions i believe.

Hello everybody I´m new in this thing.
I live in México and I´m hoping to transfer to 3 Universities: Yale, NYU or Columbia University.
I have to say My SAT´S are horrible!!! about 1,300
I´m in 3d semester of psychology.
But here is my story and why I wish to transfer.

All my life I have being with kids with different disabilities, and this have become a very important part of me. I met Sean ( a 9 year old boy with autism) When he was 4 and I was 12. I decided to come to Connecticut last summer to work with him in different therapies that of course Mexico does not have. So I went back to my school, and try to start with my dream wich is opening a school for autistic kids, that would use art as the first therapy and all the aid would be free. So when I wanted to start I found out Mexico doesn´t even have 1% of knowledge in autism and that my university classes are so lack in my interest. So I decided to come back, to prepare myself and then open the school because I know that staying in Mexico won´t get me very far.

I´m I writer, I publish my first book at the age of 17 ( wich I send a copy to Yale)
and I will publish my first novel this year.

I know Yale is looking for students that can give “more” than just an “A”
My GPA is good, is like 3.8

BUT MY SAT IS KILLING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
pleaseee tell me they can consider me… or ok tell me the truth

thank youuuuu
