Transfer Schools with no test requirement??

Hi!
I am a current freshman at a very good and competitive college, with one of the best programs for my major in the country. However, due to recent unfortunate events at the college, it would be to the detriment of my mental health if I were to continue going there. With that said in high school I got good grades and I was heavily involved in EC’s but I was just one of those students who sucked at standardized testing. So I applied to a few state schools and a couple top tier test optional schools.

After my first semester in college I managed a 4.0 GPA, and was heavily involved in She’s the First (a charity organization for girls education in developing nations), the Pre-Law Society and the college democrats (even participating in canvasing trips during the election). I really don’t want to have to settle for any college because of my test scores, especially not after I’ve worked so hard to get where I am.

Would anyone know any good colleges that do not require test scores for transfers?

(Also I am a Poli-Sci major if that helps).

You would find more SAT/ACT optional or not used transfer admission policies when transferring as a junior (with more of a college record, so your high school record is less or not important) than as a sophomore (with little college record, your high school record is still important).

If you really cannot continue at your current school, but do not get any suitable transfer admission offers this year, consider doing your second year at a community college and then applying to transfer as a junior instead of sophomore.

As a freshman you were concerned about financial aid. The need for substantial financial aid may limit your choices further. The community college option may be a good one.

Have you tried the counseling services at your current college?

Yes I am going through counseling right now but my parents are pushing for me to transfer so I can focus on my academics and not be distracted.

UChicago

I saw on another thread that you had a GPA of 3.3 from high school, and that you are from PA. Did your GPA change much by the time that you graduated, and was this waited or unweighted (or am I mis-remembering)? I didn’t see any test scores so I will figure that you don’t have any (there are very good schools that do not require tests).

What is your budget?

What type of schools do you prefer? Would you prefer relatively small schools or large ones?

Do you have a geographic preference? Would you like to stay relatively near PA? Would the eastern half of the US be preferred?
