So I am currently at a CC in Ca and looking into different engineering programs. I am most interested in bioE because I would love to go into medical research. BUT almost every forum/website I have looked at says choose a traditional engineering degree. I have come up with two options… Go to UCSC for bioE or go to CSU Fresno for either mechanical or electrical engineering. All of these are going to leave me at CC for another 2 years and I don’t know if I see myself very interested in other fields of engineering other than for medical research but I am the type of person that loves to keep my options open. If I choose mechanical/electrical could I get a Master’s in bioE later on?
Part of me really wants to go to UCSC because the campus is beautiful and I would get more of a college experience but at Fresno I would not have very much debt but would be more focused on working. OR should I scratch the engineering thing and stick to biology/chemistry (even though I have no interest in med. school, which seems to be what most people do with bio degree) SOS
