Transfer student looking for some answers...

Hello CC, I’m a sophomore at Albright College. I am looking to transfer to another school in the Northeast. I have become more and more disenchanted with my school. So after almost two years of attending this institution, I am ready to move onto bigger and better things. My GPA is 3.16 (I have been battling some issues too, Crohn’s Disease, anxiety/depression) and this semester I have been averaging A work in 4 classes (though it probably won’t matter in the decisions). I have good relations with the college and my professors, I participate in my school’s radio station, I have done some volunteer work, I am about to get involved with the school newspaper and a Buddhist group on-campus. My school doesn’t offer much in terms of groups (the Model U.N. is defunct, political/philosophy groups are non-existent). There isn’t much here for me especially socially.
What I am looking for:
-Albright is very cliquish; not very much interaction between groups, not very accepting of out-of-the-box, quirky type of people. Looking for a place that cherishes diversity and progressive-minded people, very little or no Greek life
-It would be great if my future school had a good radio station, having good extracurricular activities (political/philosophy groups, etc.) in general would also be a plus
-Looking for a student body that is politically active, intellectually motivated people
-Campus-wise, I wouldn’t mind a rural/suburban (college town), outdoors, isolated setting…however, I am not opposed to an urban campus (American University’s campus is urban, but has a beautiful, suburban, nature-oriented campus style)
-As far as my major goes, I am probably going in the direction of Psychology and Political Science however I am considering Communications (in place of one of those two) as well

Thank you, I hope I gave you enough information. I just don’t know what is attainable with my GPA as some schools seem like reaches (Barnard) that might fit what I’m looking for

Lewis and Clark College, Whitman College are examples of what I’m looking for…However, I’m trying stay here in the Northeast

No advice?

I’ve heard University of Vermont is a good school with a lot of clubs and such.

Maybe check it out? I’ve heard a lot of positive things about it.

Vassar? Hamilton?

I got to University of Puget Sound. Personally, its not for me, but for you it sounds like it would be perfect. Plus they really assess applicant him/herself, not just their stats like test score and such. They want to personally know their applicants and see if they are good people who want to work hard.
