Transfer Students for Texas A&M University

Whoop. Congrats.

As for housing… Park West, the Rise, the domain, aspire. And many more in the northgate area.

Go check it out sooner than later as most of the returning students for next year, signed their lease last fall.

Hi Christi. I’ve been stalking these threads for years. I am super curious to know how you know so much. But that’s not what I finally signed up to ask. I have a couple of current Aggies and one waiting on a transfer decision. Lone Star to Blinn to applying for Special Ed (1st choice) and K-6 Ed (2nd choice). 60 credits hours, 3.5 GPA, all the reqs completed. There isn’t a lot of historical chat about education admits. She has all green checks (1 week ago), the change major button is gone and she is waiting for her audit to post. Of course what we really want to know - will she get in? While we wait, I’d also like to know if the ed department reviews the applications or if it goes strictly through admissions? Do they review letters of recommendation? When are they likely to start rolling out decisions? Thanks.

Edited to add that although she does not have a transfer audit posted, she can see her full academic record, including IP classes, in Howdy.

Hey there… great stats! She has an excellent shot. Transfer audit should be up soon. The only negative i can see us that she applied late. Apps opened early Jan. I always advise students to apply early because they could fill transfer spots and then stats dont matter.

To my knowledge, all admission decisions are made but admissions now. It didnt use to be this way.

Good luck and please come back and let us know when she gets admission!!!

@Christi1993 She applied via ApplyTexas Feb 7 and her documents were all received by TAMU on Feb 9. Would you still consider that late in the cycle? We are hoping decisions start popping up next week.

Oh gotcha. No, early Feb is not late. I misread that or interpreted that as she applied last week.

They are wrapping up freshman admissions today. Im assuming that means they will then be able to give full focus to transfers. Once the audit pops up, you will know they are at least looking at her app!

Adding this here for those who are searching for information in the future.

Transer, Special Education

3.5 GPA, 50 hours complete, 13 in progress, applied via Apply Texas on February 9th, Audit posted March 9th,

Howdy Academic record updated March 24th (photo attached), Email address appeared in directory March 25th. AIS still says complete & in review, and Howdy still only has 3 tabs.

I highly recommend signing up for a Zoom session with the education department during the transfer process. It was very helpful for my daughter. Current link to sign up: Virtual Information Sessions - Education and Human Development

Congrats!!! And thanks for sharing.

Hello, I am a sports management transfer applicant with a 3.7 gpa, 4.0 on all req courses, however I am right above the max preferred hours of 60. I am at 70, but 13 of those credits are TRNS XXX credits. How will that affect my application? I have also received my spring audit on June 4th, an my academic record has said NA for at least a week and a half. Thank you!

10 credits is a lot over the preferred amount BUT it does so preferred vs a hard stop of no. You have to have 45 Tamu hours to order your ring FYI. If the trns XXX means they will probably transfer as an elective or just a class not going towards degree.

Great GPA!!! Please let us know how it works out. Hoping for the best for you.

Got in this evening!!!
