Transfer to a different college?

Hi, I need a little help trying to figure out whether or not I should transfer out of my college. I am currently enrolled in Brooklyn College as a Frshman with a full scholarship (not that they are difficult to come by here) and I was trying to figure out if I should transfer. I generally don’t like the environment at the college, which I find to have a lack of intellectual socialization (whether this is because I am taking classes among the non-honors students is hard to say) and I find that the classes cover material that I had learned in high school or the material is very simple. The reason why I am on the edge about whether I should transfer or not is because I have already made a bunch of friends (and I like them a lot) and I am used to the locations of the buildings etc. I am afraid that I will not get sufficient financial aid if I attempt to transfer to another college and wouldn’t be able to fit in properly. I’ve been able to maintain a 4.0 gpa fairly easily, and am also frightened about my prospects of getting into an ivy league law school if I graduate from Brooklyn college. I am thinking about transferring to either fordham, cornell, columbia, nyu, or some other college which would be able provide me with large amounts of financial aid.
Thank in advance for any advice!

Not all colleges give Aid to transfer students, so be cautious about that.

I attend The University of Iowa, unfortunately known for having the lowest retention rate in the Big Ten ( last documened at 83%). I personally have come across many students, either they will be transfering to Iowa this spring ( or next fall) or will not be returning. Also have came across students who have thought about leaving Iowa but stayed. Less specifically Iowa, I know know students who will be transferring from their current school this spring or fall. I think you should wait for your freshmen year to complete before making such a big decision. Try to figure out what you don’t like about the environment. With lack of information it’s hard to give a suggestion but the schools you’ve listed as a possible transfer are difficult and more publicly known than your current school in New York New York. ( NYU is known for little financial aid).
