I did a semester at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida before I came to Boston University this semster. I am in their premed program, in the College of Arts and Sciences, but nursing is what I really want to do. Plus, I like the campus of BC much more. BU has too many people and NO school spirit.

I know that BC doesn’t accept a lot of transfer students, but how do you think it would work out? I still have a little bit before the deadline.

I’m a male, and would be applying for the school of nursing. 1850 SAT, 3.77 HS GPA, 4.0 for my semester at ERAU, BU GPA may hurt me a little bit ~3.0.

Well I think they would be willing to disregard the the SAT considering that for you it obviously has not been a predictor of your first year college success. Your HS GPA is good, just try to get around a 3.5 or so at BU to be really competitive. Being a male applicant for nursing will definitely help, but it’s a very small school so there may not be many openings. I would certainly say that you are qualified, but transfer admissions are very hard to predict because it depends on how many nursing students leave BC or transfer into another school here.

Dear trevor51590 : Apply for a transfer if you want to attend your third school in three semesters. The problem with going into the nursing school specifically is that it is a very structured four year program and you might find yourself with nearly freshman status entering as a second year student.

Now, let’s be honest here - BC views itself as a far more selective school than BU in virtually every area. Sporting a 3.0 GPA from BU will do more than hurt you “a little bit”.

Since you are in Boston, get on public transportation and head over to BC to meet with admissions very soon. Have a frank discussion as to whether your profile is sufficient. Actually meeting with the BC admisssions office will be a sign that you are more serious about the transfer than other students - which might be an advantage for you.
