Transfer to Brown for 2010?

I’m a freshman in Georgia Tech. My GPA is 3.5 this semester. My SAT is 2360. I know my GPA is low. Is it possible to transfer to Brown since the admission will focus more on test score if I get into it as a sophomore?

Personally, I think that one’s college GPA is more telling than his SAT score. While it is still possible to transfer to Brown, you probably want to focus on a so-called “hook”.

It’s not necessarily that they’ll focus more on your test scores, it’ll just be your HS credentials as a whole, which generally include test scores. SAT’s are more of a way to estimate how well a person will do in college.

Hooks are the following types of factors: URM, recruited athlete, development candidate, sometimes legacy.

Thus, generally a hook is something you have or don’t have, they’re not something you can develop. What you can work on are grades, course selection, LORs, etc.
