Transfer to Brown: What GPA?

What gpa do I need to be a strong applicant to Brown?

I got waitlisted last year. Top 10% HS class, 3.96 GPA. Great EC. Will get a little help from the rugby team in admissions, but not a lot.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

The website says most applicants should have a GPA of 3.5 or more, but I imagine they expect a higher GPA than that for students with academics as their selling point, opposed to an interesting ability or life story.

I’ve got a lot of interesting stuff about me. I’m a very good potter and one of the best female wrestlers and rugby players in the country. I also have science research experience. But, of course, I need that GPA. They say they look at the whole picture, but I don’t buy it. Unless I can change my math grade (currently a c+) to pass/fail (complicated situation) I’m looking at a 3.2 or 3.3. If I can, it may be around a 3.7 with a medical explination for the presence of a pass/fail grade.

Any other thoughts?
