Transfer to csulb from csun after freshman year?

I got denied from CSULB as a senior in HS and settled on CSUN. CSULB has always been my dream school and I was heartbroken. I figured I’d try to make the best of my freshman year at csun and see if I like it but so far it really isn’t the place for me. Is it possible to transfer to csulb from another csu after freshman year through the csu system? Background: in high school I graduated with a 3.33 unweighted GPA which isn’t the greatest but I had a head injury sophomore year that prevented me from memorization. My junior year I ended with a 3.75, and senior year 4.0 both semesters and a 1340/1600 on my SAT. I am a communications major and I’m doing very well in all of my classes. So far my lowest mark is a 92%. Is it possible to transfer after freshman year? Or even after first semester?

CSU’s take Junior level transfers with 60 semester/90 quarter units so you would need to stay another year at CSUN and try to transfer.

To be admitted to the California State University as an upper-division transfer (UDT) student, you must:

-have completed a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units of transferable coursework;

-have an overall college GPA of at least 2.00; your GPA is calculated using all your transfer units attempted. In high-demand majors and campuses a GPA of 2.00 may not be sufficient to be admitted;

-be in good standing at the last college or university attended. In simple terms, “good standing” means you are -eligible to re-enroll at your last college or university;

-have completed 10 general education courses (30 semester units or 45 quarter units) of basic skills courses, with a grade of C- or better, and, specifically, four courses completed in the following areas (in either column):

General Education-Breadth
Area A - English Language Communication and Critical Thinking

Area 1 - English Communication
A1 - Oral Communication
A2 - Written Communications
A3 - Critical Thinking

Area B - Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning

B4 - Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning

OR
Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum* (IGETC)
Area A - English Language Communication and Critical Thinking

Area 1 - English Communication
1A - Written Communications
1B- Critical Thinking
1C - Oral Communications

Area 2 - Mathematical Concept and Quantitative Reasoning

you have only been there a few weeks. Get involved on campus, join clubs, play an IM sport, go to a play or two. Give it a year and see how you feel. If it still isn’t for you, try to transfer elsewhere but, be advised the CSULB is a really tough transfer admit. Northridge is a very good school, make the most of it.
