Hello! I am currently a sophomore at Appalachian State University and I have recently been accepted as a junior transfer to NC State and Chapel Hill. I am a Psychology major and International Business minor. I am transferring because I have generally been unhappy since I started college here and have tried everything (in terms of getting involved and making friends) to feel more comfortable and it just hasn’t happened. It is not the right fit for me here. I am planning to tour both schools in a week. I am mostly worried about making friends at a new school and just enjoying the rest of my time as an undergrad.
I am wondering if anyone has any experiences about transferring to either of these schools as a junior and if it is possibly more easy to become acclimated at one or the other? Also, would one school be better for me academically than the other for my major (Psychology & International Business minor)? I would also like to study abroad to France if possible.
Additionally, does anyone have advice for me about living? I am not crazy about dorms (have lived in dorm for two years now) but would definitely consider it if it is the best bet for a transfer like me to make friends!
