Hi i’m Louis. I dropped out of High School last year when I got kicked out my last school. I’m currently enrolled in community college in Los Angeles. I plan to get my ged this April. I’m taking Theatre 200 (Intro to Acting), Health 011. I’m going to take English 101 & a remedial math course (Pre Algebra) online. I was looking at the transferable classes and apparently Pre-Algebra is transferable to NYU? I need help knowing what to take. I checked their transfer requirements and they were :English,Math,Social Studies,Science Studies,Humanities, any elective & I believe the last one was Arts. I’m also going to take my SAT or ACT next year before I apply. I did terrible in HS, which is why I ended up at CC. Wondering what my chances would be if I got above average scores on my tests, submitted proof of my GED, and passed my classes here at CC for this first year. I know they look at HS transcripts but which would matter more? Is there a personal essay in the application where I can explain why I was an idiot? Help please. I really want to go to NYU and want to know if i’m on the right track. All the classes i’m taking are transferable to Cal States and NYU won’t tell me which of my classes are transferable until I would get accepted. Thank you.
