Transfer to UCB,UCLA

Hello,
I am an international student studying Chemical Engineering in the 2nd year(not yet started) in University of Canterbury New Zealand.I really want to transfer to UCB(UC Berkley) or UCLA.I received very high scores for my first year (GPA 9.98 out of 10) which is considered very high here.I am on full scholarship here but I really want to transfer to UCB or UCLA and also I have many extracurricular s at college e.g-president of Asian Community etc. and assistant at UCA(Ucanterbury Accommodation). What should I do??
Thanks

Try the International forum here with your questions. Also, note there are almost no scholarships for internationals for the UC schools, so be prepared to pay full price international rates for UCB or UCLA (50K+ a year).

You’re better off calling the school or emailing them.

What are your intentions of transfering to UCB? Because for out of state students you would have a much higher chance at Cornell (higher overall ranking) compared to Cal. Also for extracurricular it’s quality > quantity.

You would be better off finishing your course of study there. Keep your high grades, do research, then transfer as PhD student. You wouldn’t have any debt at all.

I think that would be a better route.
