Transfer to Umich

Hello I received my rejection today from Umich and they mentioned something about transferring. In my letter it presented the opportunity to transfer after two years at a university.I did a program in high school called early middle college where we were given an opportunity to earn our associates degree. I will be getting it this may.I was wondering if there’s a guaranteed admission to Umich if I go the other Umich campuses, I was admitted into the Dearborn campus. I also was wondering if do one year at a different college would I be able transfer to Umich? And would I need to use my gpa from the community college I went to or the university I’m spending a year at.

Here’s the letter:
We have completed a final individualized and comprehensive review of your University of Michigan application and all supporting documents. While you have many impressive qualities, we regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you a place in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for fall 2024.

We had a large number of applicants to the program this year and unfortunately are not able to admit all of the talented people who apply due to resource limitations.

Because college is an important next step, we encourage you to make enrollment plans at another college or university such as one of our regional campuses, UM-Dearborn or UM-Flint.

Many applicants who are not admitted to UM-Ann Arbor as first-year students continue their interest and enter as transfer students. You may wish to consider applying after the successful completion of two years of study at another college or university. Our website contains more information about transfer guidelines.

We know you will soon be attending a college or university where you’ll thrive. We hope this final decision will not deter you from your aspirations and wish you great success.

I’ve hear that going to a different Umich campus doesn’t necessarily increase your chances compared to another 4 year or community college. I received the same rejection last year and was accepted as a transfer(freshman) in January from Michigan State. I just think it depends on your grades and extracurriculars through the associates or community college classes.
