<p>Five years ago I spent a year at UTSA under UT Austin’s CAP program. I did great my first semester and failed my second half of freshman year spectacularly.</p>
<p>After a tour of the entry-level workplace, I am hoping to make a return to putting effort towards getting a degree from UT.</p>
<p>Is it possible to apply to UT Austin? And if so, should I omit my second UTSA semester or omit my college transcript entirely?</p>

<p>You CANNOT omit any college transcripts. I don’t see how you will be accepted if you failed your second semester.</p>
<p>I would suggest either taking classes at a community college or reentering UTSA. If you failed your second semester and have not taken classes since then I don’t think UT would accept your application. You would have to apply as a transfer and you would need 30 hours of transferable credits.</p>

<p>None of us call tell you that. You should call the University and see what they say. I just think it’s going to be really hard - that’s the whole point of CAP, to prove that you can handle the load, and you haven’t been able to show that.</p>
<p>IMO you should save your money and take classes at community college and not waste them on the University Extention couses. </p>
<p>You need to contact UT-Austin and UTSA. None of us can give you definitive answers.</p>
<p>Seems like an extremely bad idea to try to omit a previous enrollment within the same public U system. And even outside of that, your record of college attendance is readily available here:</p>

<p>A poor academic record is one thing, lying on an application takes it to an altogether different level.</p>
<p>As entomom pointed out, UT will know about your previous UTSA attendance. For one thing, you were in CAP, that is an agreement between UT and UTSA, and they most definitely have your information on file or access to those files because of the agreement. </p>
<p>And I think you will need at least two semesters of very good grades to make up for failing out of a program that was designed to help you transfer to UT. It does not bode well that you could not complete the CAP requirements.</p>
