I applied to engineering and was CAPed from BME due to my 3.7 GPA on the 4.8 scale (I went to a magnet HS and struggled with depression/anorexia throughout most of HS, in addition to spending a lot of my time doing extracurriculars instead of school work). I did not elect to participate in CAP. I now want to apply to CNS undeclared (undeclared within CNS), for the second semester of freshman year. I will have 30 hours after the 1st semester between APs (already checked- UT counts those towards transfer credit), and 18 hours during my first semester. During my first semester, I’ll be TRYING to take 9 hours of math+science, and Calc 1 in addition to a couple transferring English classes at UT Dallas. The CNS website says they PREFER to have two classes of a science class, and that we need it to be a competitive applicant but that’s two semesters worth of classes and I don’t really want to have to be there at UTD for 2 semesters. Do we need to have 2 semesters of a science class to be considered at all?
Is this transfer possible? I’m also hinging on my resume/ recs a lot- are those considered a bunch in transfer???
