<p>Is it possible to attend a college/university with a 4 year NROTC scholarship and then transfer, say after 2 years, and keep the scholarship?</p>
<p>example: Lets say I attend Oregon State U on my NROTC scholarship. After 2 years, I apply to transfer to UC Berkeley, and get accepted to Berkeley. If there is room at the NROTC detachment in Berkeley, could I transfer my scholarship from OSU to UC Berkeley? If yes, has anyone done it?</p>
<p>I’m not sure about the first part of your question, though it seems reasonable to transfer if the unit you want to transfer to has space available. UC Berkeley is the oldest NROTC unit in the nation, established by Admiral Nimitz himself. Its cross town affiliates are UC Davis and Stanford University. My daughter earned a 4-year NROTC scholarship to UC Berkeley, but turned it down for the Naval Academy. (However, I think she was fantasizing about being at Cal during plebe summer in Annapolis…)</p>
