Transfer with C on a major course ...

And that’s a C on Differential Equations, a major course.
That’s Highlight 1. Highlight 2 is I’m an international applicant (from an 80-some ranked American engineering university) dreaming of a full FA.
Need-blind? I trust you.

Now this is what you will most likely get on a gloomy spring day next year.

Class of 2013, intend to transfer at 2011 (sophomore transfer). Math major (hard to give it up though I know my IQ is a better fit for less solid things).

Citizen of China… Race? “Not-responding” … ^_^

Academic Star? Semi.
MCM Honorable Mention, maybe better next year.
Putnam … I prefer to say I didn’t take it this year =_= Hopefully an Honorable mention this December, 50-100 ranked - I know what I am.
A coding-intensive REU at ND this summer (cellular-bio modeling, NSF paid).
(Rec 1)
Two published diaper papers. (“How many dates should one have during a lifetime? Probabilist tells you…” stuff)
(Rec 2)
Passed 3 SOA exams. Actuarial internship expected next summer (Metlife?).
(Rec 3)

Social animal? No, I’m an INTP.
Mensa int’l coordinator.
(Rec 4)
Key person in Mensa China’s establishment.
(Rec 5)
Maybe some other stuff here at Delaware Valley Mensa.
(…Rec 6?)
Other trivial EC.

GRE 2300+.
GPA 3.90 (despite the C). Finishing up 180 college credits (around 40 courses; of course, tier 2 school courses are fluffs… A lot by AP(two 5s, two 4s), CLEP(fluff!), Credit-by-exam and summer school) in 1.5 years.
All A’s or A+'s except 2 A-'s and 1 C on Ordinary Diff Eq (Ironically, I have an A on Partial Diff Eq, which takes the former as a prerequisite).
“C”, est la Vie… Ridiculous things happen in life. I took it Credit-by-exam to clear for further courses expecting an A; unfortunately, volatility marked a KO on me.

Tier 2 school, had some guy successfully transfer into MIT before, and very similar in school style.

Please, don’t mock. Should I still try? I know how to appear not desperate on my essays.

p.s. the reason why I rushed the 180 credits in 1.5 years at the cost of a C is, after 2 years, unless I either graduate and start getting paid, or transfer out on a full FA, I’ll be out of bread.
Why start at a fluffy school? Same reason. I couldn’t afford an SAT when I was back in China. I applied without it.

^ Well, if you don’t try, you’ll never know.
