Transfer

I am a current frosh Davidson student.(international student) I am thinking about transferring to Pomona college.

But I am very concerned that my high school gpa is really bad, especially my senior second semester grade. It pulled my high school gpa to 2s. (went private+hard school)

I am doing my best in Davidson, but it is clear that getting good gpa here is really hard. yet I still want to go to Pomona. How hard is it to transfer from good liberal art school to best liberal art school in nation?

you are already at the 'best liberal arts college in the country"; what your question should be is 'how hard is it to transfer to an easier college if you can not handle the work load at the one you attend?"; the answer is-quite hard unless you are willing to go down a lot of notches…

No. I think you are getting an wrong idea here. I never mentioned that I can’t handle the work at my college. If I cannot handle the work at davidson, I probably did not get in here.

I have some personal reasons to transfer, which I dont find neccesary to mention here.

Anyway, anyone out here that knows how the transfer works in pomona college?

First of all, Pomona accepts a very small percentage of students wanting to transfer there. This year, about eight transfer students enrolled. If you truly want to transfer to Pomona, you should read the information posted on the website: http://www.pomona.edu/adwr/admissions/Applying/Information.shtml</a> and determine whether your college record at Davidson meets the requirements. Also, think carefully about why you want to transfer. Admissions may not consider personal reasons alone sufficient.

Good luck with your decision!

Is receiving financial aid important? Pomona does not give financial aid to international transfer students, so if money is an issue, it wouldn’t be worth applying. Additionally, as LittleMother said, it is very difficult to transfer into Pomona, even from another good liberal arts college.
