I’m planning to transfer during my freshman year to usc as a BM piano. I was wondering if it is better to be undeclared during my freshman year and take music classes such as theory, music history, etc. except for private lessons (since all music majors have to take private lessons) . I’m taking lessons with a professor over the summer so that I would be ready to transfer to a different college and the professor said he can’t teach me if I have more than one teacher. So I was planning to take organ instead of piano, but I think it will be too much. Since I have to get ready for auditions and that takes up alot of time. This is why I’m wondering if I should just be undeclared. I don’t know what to do at this point. Can you please give me advice.
