If I took courses that are transferable course but they don’t relate to my requested major courses, does those courses counted against my GPA. I took PHI-10 in RCC and got a “C”; this course doesn’t relate to my Biochemistry selected major. So, will UC count this course into my GPA. The sentence: " An overall gpa of 2.70 in all transferable courses is required" is quite vague to me, does it mean only overall gpa that related to your major transferable courses or it means it is totally gpa of everything that you took in college?

Any insight would be much appreciated!

They take into consideration your cumulative GPA for ALL UC transferable courses, specifically those take in accordance to IGETC. That said, it includes all 60 units of courses taken to transfer including any pre-reqs for your intended major.

Transferable GPA is the GPA of all the courses that you took that are transferable to UCs. It doesn’t matter if the course is related to your major or not; if it’s transferable to a UC, it will count towards your transferable GPA. Go to [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) , select the school you’re attending, and check which courses are transferable.

P.S. If by RCC, you mean Riverside Community College, then yes PHI-10 is transferable and will count towards your GPA.

what about if you took a college course in high school and then you decide to transfer? will the grade you get in that course count towards your transfer GPA?

if that course is uc-transferable , then yes.

most likely it will be transferable
