Transfering and learning a trade/AA?

Can any1 give me any insight of how difficult it is to transfer and at the same time earn an AA in something or a trade?

My situation is that my CC offers an EMT program that is about 110+ hours of class/ a semester long.

Do you think i can take my general Ed uc transferable classes during the day and my EMT classes at night or should i take a semester off and take only my EMT class.

Im not even sure they let you do this but my counselor said people have sucessfully gotten an AA or learned a trade while transfering to a university.

you could do this, but you should set priorities as what do you want to do first or what’s more important to you and you want to get done

You can do this in any which way you want. There is no set time frame.
Be aware though that if you complete EMT program, would you expect to have an EMT job once you are at a UC? Don’t know what the hours are like on the job, but your job might get in the way of finishing up your bachelors degree once you transfer.
you could technically learn a trade during the summers of what UC campus you end up attending.

Just remember that you can get an AA in any type of trade anytime, even after a Masters degree. I doubt you even need to get an AA in EMT to get an EMT job, they will just want a certificate of completion(i imagine, like most trade jobs like cosmetology) that prove you completed the hours required, especially if you’re going to go on to get a higher level of education like a Bachelors

I’m not sure how it works, but I know my local cc offers a fire fighters program that requires some UC transferable courses. So i recommend that you remain aware of how many units you earn so you don’t go over the maximum amount units a student transfer can have. 60sm/130qrt.
