Transfering from A&M to UT

Hi I was wondering if I could get some help on transferring from A&M to UT after one year. I am going to be attending A&M in the fall and I plan on transferring into UT for the next year.

What steps should I take before hand to guarantee a successful transfer admission?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My advice would be to ask your advisor or someone who deals with transfers once you get to A&M. They are most likely to know what other successful transfers have done since they have the most experience with transferring within the TX public U system.

If you stick to the Texas “Core” classes, they will all transfer to UT as long as your grades are good. Texas “Core” classes are specific and if you don’t know what they are you can get a list at either universities website. Texas law requires that those classes be transferrable between public universities in Texas. That being said, transferring is not guaranteed. UT will need room for you in your degree plan and your grades will have to be excellent to make the move.
