Transfering out of SUNY Oswego

I am from florida and I go to SUNY Oswego. I am an RA there next year, but I am thinking about transfering out in 2015. Is it a bad idea to transfer, if I am set to graduate in 2016? I don’t really have a good reason to transfer aside from the fact that I don’t feel proud about going to Oswego and I think I’ll feel better having a diploma from a better school, aside from all the money I would be saving if I go to a school in Florida. Please give me some advice on this and tell me what you think. Thanks

If you transfer, your next school from will be the school you get your degree from and will be known as your alma mater, y’know? So that’s something to consider. If you want to graduate from a school with a better reputation, this is a way to do it. But I don’t think it’ll be impossible to go to Oswego and be successful. Are you enjoying your time there, and do you want to leave for any other reason than the “name?”

thanks for replying rebeccar, I am also not very happy there as it is. I mean, it’s ok but I think it should be better than that. I also didn’t do very well my first year which is very muck unlike me. I know that it happens to a lot of people, but I attribute it to me being unhappy. I will focus on my studies so that I will be able to transfer out and plus I’ll be an RA which looks really good on a resume.
