Transfering to Colombia

So I may have to attend UCSB over NYU because of financial reasons, and I really am not thrilled with UCSB. I start there with 48 credits, sophomore standing is 45. How would I go about applying to Colombia as a transfer? Would I only get one shot? Will high school grades and SAT not good enough for the Ivies count against me that bad? I’ll only have one quarter (if even that) done by the time I apply.

Thanks

First of all, Colombia is a country. Columbia is a university.

By all means apply to Columbia if you think you’d be happier there, but you should keep in mind that transfers typically receive less FA. And if your high school grades are scores weren’t up to Columbia’s level, your chances are quite limited if you apply as a sophomore, because it’s so hard to judge a student on one term. They will make less of a difference if you apply as junior, but will still be taken into consideration.

Well I will have to apply as a sophomore since I start school as a sophomore

Bump, do I really have only one chance to transfer out of UCSB since I start as a sophomore and have my transfer based solely off my HS stats because it will be my first couple months at school?

No, your academic standing has nothing to do with your transfer standing.

So I can try my first and second years? Awesome, thanks.
