Transfering to UCB

do i have a better chance for admission if i applied as an international student with no financial aid request opposed to someone who's applying with financial aid with similer stats?
does it make a difference in decisions or UC's doesnt care about that?

im hoping to apply with at least 3.8 GPA computer science major currently have 3.45 in my first semester at CC

Yea, international students have a slight disadvantage in the admissions process for UCB in comparison to someone who gets financial aid because people who get financial aid are usually american citizens, California resident is probably best chance. Don't be discouraged though plenty of my international friends got into UC's. Just need work on your GPA. Top most priority I'd say.

it would be a bummer if i worked my butt off for the next 1.5 year and get rejected, i would have to get 4 from now on to transfer with above 3.8 gpa, i thought with the economic crisis and the budget cuts UC's like UCB are gonna prefer students with no fiancial aid rather than american ones who need financial aid.
