Transferring after 3 Years - Feasible?

Hi, I’m looking to transfer from the public university I am at to an LAC. I’ve changed my major several times, so even though I have been in college for 2 and a half years, I will still have two years left after this upcoming semester. I have a 3.9 GPA and I had a high SAT score. Will it be possible for me to transfer or should I just stick it out for 2 more years at the school I am at?

your situation sounds exactly like mine

Yeah, I’m stuck at a school that I really can’t stand and would love to transfer to a school that has decent programs in history and classics.

do you have any information if this is possible?

It is possible. Especially if you are changing fields of study and the new college/university has a much better program in that new field. You will need to contact both the department that you want to study in, and the transfer admissions office, and ask how to proceed. You must be prepared to spend a full two years at the new place as almost all of them will require that you are there for two academic years.

So, pick up the telephone and start dialling!

Good luck to you both.
