If I transfer from a 4-year private university in the top 30 will all/most my credits transfer to say an ivy league school or school in the top 10 if I get an A or B
in the class.

Should I all my prospective transfer schools and ask them what classes they would take or how I could have credits transferred?

Thanks for the feedback!

Also, my best friend is going to community college and she wants to transfer to a top university. Will she lose all/most of her credits during the transfer?

And, she is planning on completing her AA in 1 1/2 years instead of 2… should she apply as a junior transfer during the second semester of her first year or wait until the fall of her second year? (She’s applying for spring 2011 entrance)

Each college/university makes its own determination of which credits will transfer and which won’t. You have to ask each school that you are looking at about how it will handle your specific credits.

Completing an AA is completing an AA. Finishing in 1 1/2 years or 2 years or 5 years it still is the same number of academic credits. Your friend should time her applications so that she can be admitted to begin her coursework at the new school at the correct time. She needs to find out what the application due date is for the term that she wants to enroll there.
