Transferring AP Credit

I'm looking to possibly transfer to UConn in the 2013 fall semester. I was accepted into the university when I was applying to colleges as a senior in high school, but enrolled elsewhere. The school that I ended up choosing hasn't been a good fit for me, so I've begun looking at the possibilities of transferring. One of the biggest concerns I have that I cannot find answers to online is how the university goes about transferring AP credits. UConn takes 4s and above for most APs, but the school I am currently enrolled in took my 3s and gave me credit. So my question is will UConn accept these as credits from my current university, or decline them since they were granted via AP scores that UConn does not award credit for? I hope that makes sense, and I thank anyone who answers in advance for their time.

You should definitely talk to someone in the admissions office. Whether you do that before or after you are (hopefully) accepted is your decision.

They may allow you to transfer it as elective credit rather than a core course towards your major.

I’m assuming you are out of state because you don’t have the ECE credit?

They don’t accept 3’s.
