I want to transfer out of my community college into a university as a junior. I’m looking at NYU, northeastern, boston U and some other northeastern private universities.

I have a 4.0 and am doing the biology major pre reqs.

Do these private schools usually take juniors from community colleges? Seems like most applicants are transferring in as sophomores.

It really depends on the school. Google the schools name with transfer rate or the likes. NYU looks like it accepts a large number of transfer. The only 2 issues you will run into is. 1) A lot of private schools require SATs and even HS transcript for transfers. ex. NYU wants SAT for transfer. 2) Courses may not articulate. You really need to double check that if there is an agreement between your CC and the uni you wish to apply or. Or double check their catalog to make sure they offer a comparable course. Also it’s important to make sure that the courses that do articulate meet the general education graduation requirements.
