Transferring at the end

I’ve got one more year of school and I’m nervous. I have a mediocre GPA from a mediocre school and not much else going on. I’m a humanities major, and at this point I just want to transfer to a public college in order to take a few science courses and extend my time in school (and with federal aid) in order to get some useful degree. Should I just go ahead and graduate? I don’t really care what I do–I just need to be able to pay back these enormous loans which are rapidly closing in.

You need to contact the public U that you have in mind, and find out whether or not they admit students with as many credits as you have earned. You also need to find out if you can be admitted into the major that you now want. If both of those are possible, and you know that you would only need two years to graduate, this can work.

Good luck!
