Hello!
I’m considering on transferring back to my old UC. I transferred to UC Davis because it was much closer to home (I live in the Bay Area) and I was feeling homesick throughout the school year last year. But I miss my friends, the vibe, and people of UC Riverside (which is my previous university). It’s kind of hard for me to make friends here because it’s a lot bigger and academics are definitely a lot harder (I’m a Microbiology major here… may switch to just general Biological Sciences).
I’ve only been at Davis a week. I’m going to tough it out this quarter. I know I should give it some time as things hopefully lighten up for me. But any thoughts? Thanks!
Dude - give it more than a week. Presumably lots of thought and planning went into the decision to relocate. Trust your decision, dig into all that Davis has to offer.
I transferred to be closer to home as well, the drive to my previous university was miserable. However, I’ve been at my new university for three weeks and I’d take that long, crappy drive back in a heart beat. I truly believe I will benefit more at my original university, than here. I have been struggling since a family illness and loss of another family member during my freshman year. (This is my sophomore year) So after three weeks here I decided to withdraw and take the semester off, to get some counseling, learn to cope better, and to make my decision without the interference of anxiety and depression. I believe I will return to my original university in the fall.
