I’m currently in my first semester at Carleton in the honours biochemistry program, and I’m finding it’s not the right school for me, mostly because of the size and because I’d like to move out of Ottawa. I’d like to transfer to the same program at Bishops U, which is in Quebec.
Is there any way I can transfer for the second semester of my first year? My high school average was well above the admission average for out of high school, and I am anticipating my first semester marks will be above the transfer admission average, but obviously I won’t have them until after first semester is over. Also the deadline for admission into the winter semester was November 1st, but I noticed that for the fall semester, the deadline is later for transfer students than others, and also that some applications after the deadline will be considered, so maybe I could still get in?
I realize the best option is probably to stick this year out and apply as a transfer student after the whole first year, but I’d appreciate any input.
Also, if I do transfer between two semesters, will I be able to have my second semester tuition at Carleton refunded?
