Hey everyone, I’m an incoming sophomore at the University of San Diego looking to transfer to a UC or Cal Poly SLO. I absolutely love attending USD, but am finding that it is no longer affordable. The current tuition that I pay is $25,000 a semester, including food and board. My scholarship covers the rest of the cost. A little more background; I will be attending law school after my undergrad, currently hold a 3.85 cumulative GPA , and my extracurriculars include me being a Zumba instructor at my campus gym and also teaching a Zumba credit class as a faculty.
Major: Business Economics
What advise would you give me? Is cost alone reason to go through the hassle of transferring colleges? Is there a chance many of my credits won’t apply at the new university, which would push me back a year? As someone who’s first transfer preference is UCLA, what are my chances? As someone looking to pursue law school, what UC or even state school would be the right choice? I read somewhere that UC’s require you have 60 units before transferring, so does that mean I can only transfer into one for my Junior year? If so, do I stay at my current college and throw away more money?
Thanks for your help in advance. I would appreciate any advice.
