Hi everyone,

First post on this board so I’ll try to make it good. Currently I’m a sophomore at a fairly reputable state university (whose name is not important) and I’m unsatisfied with many aspects about it. I have been able to fit in quite well with many of the people there, so that hasn’t been too much of an issue. But, seeing as I’m basically attending a school in my backyard, where I’ve lived forthe past ~15 years, I really feel like I could use a climate change. Also, as I am in the east, I would prefer someplace warmer as I suffer slightly from “winter blues” which I feel does impact my studying.

Statistics:

SAT: 1380 740 verbal; 640 math
HS GPA: 4.0
College GPA: 3.2 (w/ 48 credits completed)
Intended major: Classical Studies (or math/psychology)

Academically, the school I’m at isn’t bad in the classics, however, I’d prefer to attend another university/LAC which is decent in it. Any suggestions on where to go/tranferring chances? I’m not looking for something in the Ivies, so I’m not too concerned about my GPA. Plus, according to the Princeton Review’s website, you only need a 3.0 or above to transfer to most places (3.5-4.0 or better for elite schools).

A major part of the reason I went to this University was so that I didn’t have to shell out lots of $$$$$ for a college where I had no idea what I was going to study. Feel free to ask me any question EXCEPT the name of the university I’m at.
