The advice that I am looking for is very weird considering it is transfering to another two year college.
The college I am currently enrolled in is Middlesex County College in Edison NJ . The campus is nice and love the professors there .
Issue is usually travelling to and from the college . I have to take NJ transit 819 (to Metuchen) and then transfer 813 (to MCC). The issue is mostly with my local buses.the last 819 bus leaves Metuchen around 6:30 . I would have to walk 7 miles every single day of class due to this issue. Taxi service to my home are 24 dollars and the train service is 8 dollars ( but it makes me go from Metuchen - Newark then Newark - Dunellen).
My solution was taking morning classes , but even then the buses were so full to the college between the hours of 7 AM-12PM that I always missed my class ( tried to reschedule classes with the same professor on the same day with a different time , but had to drop because I could not compromise ).
The only option is to take afternoon classes but even then , it would be super hard for me to get a job with the said schedule.
The one in Union County College seems to be the best bet for me . I live 2 Miles away from their Plainfield campus and its cheaper for me to travel ( $1.60 min to UCC versus $3.30 or $4.15 without a transfer to MCC ) . Heck, even the train to and from Cranford is the exact same price as fares to MCC ( and quicker ) . Union County college also have their buses stop around 12-1 AM . Even if I get a car , it would easier to navigate because I know that area way better and would not have to navigate through a busy highway. Another option is walking which saves me HUGE COSTS in the long run.
Benefits also range of me holding a job and also having more friends in the said area that are going to Union than the college I am currently going too . .
Problem is with tuition cost as it will be out of county ( even tho I live one mile of county lines ). The cost of my student loans could basically be more when taking this luxury.
Another problem is that the advisers at Middlesex County College do not listen to my issues that I have . I tell them signing up / getting there is a hassle and they say " why not do this or that" which I have done , yet have not fixed the problem. I have skipped multiple semester because I fear I could not get to class and it has been stressing me out to the point where I feel like I am wasting my time. Is this the best option for me? Can the college set me a deal giving that I live super close to the county ( hell , they even advertise on the bus sometimes in my town)? Sorry for the spelling mistakes as I am not the best writer in the world and sorry for the weird dilemma ^_^’//.
