I’m considering transferring from a VA state public school to a smaller LAC next year in the fall. However, I need some recommendations on where I should start looking. I originally applied to LACs in HS but unexpected financial problems happened last minute and the big state school was the cheapest option. I really would like a school that has a “community” environment and small class sizes. My current major is Chemistry (Pre-Med); however, I might switch to computer science sophomore year. GPA in college should be 3.6+ and SAT was 1230/1600. GPA in HS was 3.75.
My dream school is Bowdoin but I don’t think I qualify with my stats. I’ve been looking at Furman and Elon so any schools similar to that would be nice. I’ve also looked at Wake Forest and UR but was hesitant about the big participation in Greek Life ( at WFU). Also I do not qualify for much aid because my parents’ +100k income so any schools that “meet full financial need” would be great. Any suggestions? Thanks
