Transferring from UCF to UF

I've been accepted to UCF for fall 2012 but UF has always been my number one choice. I plan to get my AA degree from UCF and the transfer to UF to major in journalism. I was reading that students with an AA degree are pretty much guaranteed admissions to UF and I was wondering if my AA has to be from a community college for me to have this privilege or can it be from a major university? In other words would I get the same guaranteed admissions if I transferred from UCF? Is it even possible for me to transfer from UCF to UF? Daytona State is also an option for me to get an AA and then transfer.
What will give me the best chance of transferring successfully to UF? Even if it is a school that I haven't listed above please tell me, I really want to get into UF.

It is easier to get into UF with an AA vs. right out of HS, but it's definitely not a 'guarantee.' I've heard that trying to transfer to UF from another university isn't the way to go, they look more upon those transferring from a CC. If you do end up transferring from a CC, try to get above a 3.5 GPA, and it'll increase your chances depending on your major. Also, try not to plan your life around trying to get into UF, have a back-up plan just in case.

I believe the "guaranteed" admission is if you are transferring from a CC to UF not from UCF to UF. Now here's some information that most people are unaware of.... You are guaranteed admission into the university, although you are not guaranteed admission into a limited program (which I assume journalism is). Basically, you can get onto campus, but you aren't guaranteed a spot in the specific college/program. Good luck to you! and keep your GPA as close as you can to a 4.0

Transferring from other universities to UF is very tough bc, transfers from CC gets the priority for the admissions to UF.

futuregator77 is correct. If you are dead set on attending UF as a Junior. Go to a CC get straight As then transfer.

but before you apply for the transfer find a college that will accept you. I would assume that once you are admitted to UF you can change your major? That I am not 100% certain of. Maybe someone else can comment?

UCF does grant AAs:
Associate of Arts Degree - University of Central Florida 2011-2012 Undergraduate Catalog

I'm not sure if they are the same as AAs from CCs, but I don't see why not.

Students at a CC NEED do get admitted to a university to continue their education. This is why they get preference. An AA from a CC does not guarantee admission to UF, only to a state university.

I'm exactly the opposite of you, lol. I am transferring from UF to UCF as an advertising major. UF is great, but you're definitely not guaranteed admission just because you have an AA, though your chances are way higher. As a transfer, you'll be admitted by the school of journalism on a first-come, first-serve basis. UF just admitted 11,700 freshmen, but you'll be taking higher level classes than they will, so that probably won't affect your application status. The main thing you'll need to do is keep your grades HIGH. The only way you'll be guaranteed admission to UF is if you get your AA from Santa Fe Community College and keep your grades up; like UCF with Valencia, UF has a program for transfers from Santa Fe to UF.
