Transferring from UCLA to University of Portland

Hi, I am currently taking a year off from UCLA and decided to apply to University of Portland. I received a large scholarship and it would only cost around 30,000$ compared to UCLAs 55,000$( I am out of state). I am wondering if UCLA is worth the extra 100,000( I still have 4 years to graduate with budget cuts and out of state cost is predicted to increase). Is UCLA that much better than University of Portland? I want to go to law school. Is University of Portland considered a good school?

Law schools don’t care much where you went to school but instead care about your GPA, internships, letters of rec, personal essay, etc. Law school will be very very expensive, so any chance to save money now is an idea not without merit.

Law schools care about your LSAT score as well.

Note, however, there are even cheaper schools than $30,000-per-year-after-scholarship Portland. Examples include Truman State, University of Minnesota - Morris, South Dakota publics, and possibly public schools in your state of residency.

yes, @ucbalumnus, but college choice has next to nothing to do with your LSAT score.
