Transferring from UMD to Rutgers Business

Im currently a freshman at UMD with a GPA of 3.45. I was aiming to apply to the Smith Business School at UMD next year, but have decided to look into transferring to a school closer to home as I am not loving UMD. I decided to apply to the business school at Rutgers University. In the long run, I intend to end up working in New York City, and would use Rutgers’ proximity to NYC for interning and networking in the business world.
My problem is that I cannot seem to get a straight answer on how good the Rutgers business school is. Being from NJ, the school is commonly overlooked as everyone tends to want to leave the state. However, I hear that outside of the NJ area Rutgers is seen as a very good school with a high reputation. I was wondering if anyone on here can tell me how Rutgers (Business) is viewed in the professional world versus Maryland Business, and if this is a smart idea for me to transfer.

I don’t know particulars of the business school, but Rutgers is a great school that’s overlooked by in state kids. I’ve known many Rutgers grads awho ar very successful. If you search this site, you’ll see MD kids who don’t want to go to UMD, VA kids who don’t want to go to UVA. It’s the lure of out of state, no reflection on the education quality.
