If I end up not liking the college I’ll be attending in the fall (I think I will but just in case), I plan to send out transfer applications to

in no particular order

Vassar
Oberlin
NYU
Columbia
Brown
Johns Hopkins
Northwestern
UChicago

What about you?

Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, maybe Dartmouth. Leaving UNC. Where are you going next year?

Loyola Chicago, which is ranked 115 on USNWR. I’m getting free tuition for 4 years, though.

Ah. A bit of advice - think about transferring as little as you possibly can. It’s very easy to isolate yourself in college if you have the idea that you don’t plan on staying past the first year. Join clubs, make friends, study hard.

I’ve been aware of that. I’ve actually been hesitant to research transfer options for fear that I might develop a negative attitude about the school. I’m also afraid that I will lose momentum and leadership opportunities.
