I have been doing research on how to transfer from on California state university to another and I have not had a lot of luck. Does anyone have and advice or information as to how I could do this? I really want to transfer next semester.

I have no experience with the particular school that you speak of but generally this is the procedure for transferring.

Apply to the new school, there is usually a separate application for transfers.

Make sure to send your SATS/ACT’s to the new school. Collegeboard.org for SAT and act.org for ACTs.

Contact your current school’s Bursar ad request that they send your transcript.

Teacher/counselor/etc recommendations, although I recommend you get these EARLY so that your teach/counsel./ whatever have plenty of time to do them.

Wait for decision.

However if you want in for next semester, you need to get started now. I know that it seems like you have plenty of time for this, I mean, school doesn’t start again until Fall right? Well, priority financial aid is next week. Get started on this process, like, TOMORROW!

Above all, look for any special steps your transfer choice has, and make sure to do this all soon! Good Luck!

Post your question on the UC Transfer subforum here on this board. Lots of knowledgeable folks there about transferring within the California system - it is a world of its own that doesn’t necessarily operate the way transferring does outside of UC/CSU system.

They are also on a different time schedule from most and I won’t be surprised if you cannot transfer for next semester at this point. But you can apply for whatever semester/quarter’s deadline you are able to meet.
