I just finished my first year at Bentley University, I planning on transferring to Menlo College after one year. After that I plan on transferring to a UC, State school, or private schools such as SCU and LMU. My parents however are struggling to let me do this as they believe that transfering from school to school to school will look bad on future school/ work opportunities. Is this the case? Or do you think that the path that I want to try is fine and won’t hinder my future.
Transfer to Menlo College if that’s where you want to continue and graduate from. If you know up front that you want to transfer again to a UC, CSU, or private U in CA, then go to a CCC rather than Menlo. You’ll be better advantaged as a UC/CSU transfer (and probably the privates as well) coming from community college. Utilize the established transfer pathways from the CCC’s. It’s common for students to do this and it won’t look bad, whereas attending three different four-year universities will indeed look questionable.
